How to Understand Invoice Aging

Invoice aging shows how long invoices have been outstanding, grouped into time bands, so you can see how overdue your receivables are.

Steps

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Open the "Aged Receivables" report.
  3. Review the breakdown of unpaid invoices grouped by how overdue they are (e.g. current, 1-30 days, 31-60 days, 60+ days).
  4. Use this to prioritize which customers to follow up with first.

Good to Know

The report is named "Aged Receivables," not "A/R Aging" or "Accounts Receivable Aging Report."
