How to Set Default Taxes for a Customer

Sumung lets you store tax-compliance details (such as W-9/1099 information) on a customer's record under Advanced settings.

Steps

  1. Go to Get Paid → Customers, open the row actions menu (⋮) on the customer, and click "Edit."
  2. Go to the Advanced step and fill in the available tax details (W-9/1099 compliance fields).
  3. Click "Update & close" to save.

Good to Know

There is no dedicated "default sales tax rate" or "default pricing" field on the customer record - tax rates are selected per line item when creating an invoice (see "How to Add Taxes to an Invoice"), and pricing comes from the Product/Service or custom line itself.
