What Is the Chart of Accounts Page Used For

The Chart of Accounts is the full list of every account your business's transactions can be recorded against - it's the backbone of your bookkeeping in Sumung.

Steps

  1. Go to Finances → Chart of Accounts to see the full list, organized by category (Assets, Equity, Expenses, Income, Liabilities).
  2. Use "Add account" to create new accounts as your business needs them, or "Add group" to organize accounts into custom sub-groups.
  3. Use "Add bank account" as a shortcut into connecting or manually adding a bank account, which then also appears here under Assets.
  4. Default "System" accounts come pre-built so you can start recording transactions immediately, without setting up accounts from scratch.
