What Is an Account ID

An Account ID is the unique 4-digit number shown in the leftmost column of the Chart of Accounts table, used to identify and reference each account.

Steps

  1. Look at the Account ID column to see each account's number, such as 0000 for Cash on Hand or 4401 for Accounts Payable.
  2. When adding an account, you can either type your own Account ID or leave the field blank to have Sumung auto-assign one (e.g. 0001, 2301).
  3. These IDs appear beside the corresponding account names throughout Sumung, including in journal entries and reports.
