What Is Bank Balance and How It Works in Sumung

"Bank Balance" is the balance reported directly by your bank - either synced via Plaid or entered manually when you add the account.

Steps

  1. For Plaid-connected accounts, Bank Balance updates automatically as your bank reports a new balance.
  2. For manual accounts, Bank Balance reflects whatever Opening Balance you entered, plus anything you've since updated via Edit Account Details.
  3. Compare it against System Balance to check whether your recorded transactions match what the bank actually shows.
