Why Is My Reference Number Missing

If an entry's Ref No column shows "–" instead of a number, no reference has been assigned to it yet. Open the entry and check the Reference field.

Steps

  1. Open the entry and check the Reference field.
  2. References are normally generated automatically when a new journal entry is saved.
  3. If it remains blank, re-saving the entry may assign one.
