Why Are Debit and Credit Amounts Equal

Journal entries follow double-entry accounting, which requires every entry's total debits to equal its total credits before it can be saved.

Steps

  1. As you fill in line items, check the Journal Summary panel.
  2. It shows "Balanced" once Debits and Credits match.
  3. If they don't match, adjust the line amounts until they do.
